Weight Loss Journey to 80 pounds - Over half way there!

I had a session with Amanda today and I told her I wanted to write a blog after I lost 80 pounds.  She asked me why I didn't start writing about it now. People love to hear journey stories.

A friend of mine, Dayna, shared a post on Facebook from Called to Encourage - Amanda Kaldor.

I liked the page and I saw a post that intrigued me, so I sent a private message. "I'd like information on weight loss too!" I sent the message on June 13, 2019 and we had our first health coach session on July 9, 2019!

On our first session we talked about making the scale your friend.  Weight is just a number.  I didn't weigh myself regularly at first.  Around February, I started weighing myself almost daily.

I've learned you need to be careful about what you tell yourself.  If you tell yourself "I'm lazy", Your brain isn't going to try to prove yourself wrong.  I'd change the way I would say things.  I choose to sit on this couch and watch Netflix all day long!

In September I decided to work on my latte habit!  We made a goal that I'd get one latte a week with half syrup and if I wanted another latte that week, I'd get it plain.  I did pretty well with this goal and now I am much more particular about where I will get my lattes.  Previously, I'd go through drive thrus if I was on my way somewhere.  Now, I want to make sure I can sit in the coffee shop and enjoy the latte!  COVID-19 has taken away my opportunity to sit in a coffee shop, but that doesn't stop me from getting one from Pilgrim Coffee and sitting in the parking lot.

I gave blood on May 9.  When she was going through the vitals and questions, she asked me if I was interested in giving a Power Red donation.  I said sure.  Then I asked her what the weight limit was for that donation.  She told me and I thought to myself, this will be the last time I can give this type of donation.  Next time I'll be under the weight limit.  YEAH!  (Amanda talks about celebrating the small victories.)

This reminded me of the last time I gave a Power Red donation.  It was February 26, 2017 (I didn't remember the date.  I checked my donation history.)  I signed up for the Power Red on the website, since I knew I was eligible.  I checked in at the donation site, so I thought they knew I signed up to give a Power Red.  A volunteer came out and said something about the Power Red.  A couple ladies were sitting there and they started talking about the weight limit for the Power Red and that it was a lot of weight.  I tell myself I didn't think much of their comment, but I did wonder what they thought when I got up to tell the lady I had signed up to give a Power Red donation.

I found some photos I had taken in May 2019, so I took some progress pictures.  I'm not at my goal, so I'm not going to say after pictures.  :)

I also made a chart to show my progress.  It's a slow progress, but I'd rather do it slow and steady instead of fast and furious.  I'm enjoying the process and I'm learning a lot about myself along the way.  I want this to be a lasting weight loss and I believe I'm going about it the right way for me!
I've lost 50 pounds from my heaviest weight and 7" from my stomach!
